Multitenancy
Multitenancy refers to a principle in software architecture where a single instance of the software runs on a server, serving multiple client organizations (tenants). Multitenancy is contrasted with a multi-instance architecture where separate hardware systems are set up for different client organizations. IS Tools platform consists of a number of multi tenant modules that can be spread across multiple hardware instances for scalability purpose.
Scalability
Thanks to the IS Tools architecture hardware can be added to allow the system to scale allowing a arbitrary number of servers containing applications. Both application servers and database servers can be added to the infrastructure without interference for the existing platform.
Integration possibilities
Integrate your in-house systems with the IS Tools Platform without hassle using the API offered by the system.
Security and Permissions
High-grade (AES-256) encryption & SSL are used for securing the information transfer over internet.
Multiple adjustable password policy settings allowing different password policies for different users.
A very flexible and if needed advanced permission/access model allowing detailed control over what each users can access or view. The settings can be both at individual level as at User Role level.
Data Center
IS Tools servers are located in an EU-based data center with 24x7 security monitoring, self-sufficient backup power systems and full network redundancy, which ensure very high guaranteed uptime and security. It has the highest security grade including SAS 70 Security auditing certification. Security procedures include onsite security personnel, video surveillance, no public access and a combination of biometric security and pass card systems.
The data center gets its power from commercial utility underground conduits with a 10 minute battery backup in the event of failure. Additionally, there are multiple diesel generators with full-load capability, which are on standby to provide long-term power in the event of an emergency. Internet connectivity is provided via multiple links to Tier 1 bandwidth providers which, coupled with a Cisco powered infrastructure, enables 100% network availability
Backup
All customer data and configuration is backed up daily. Full backups are complete at least once a week. Backups are kept on tape library and stored in a secure location in our data center.
